Unitech’s high-speed film rewinder reaches 4,000 feet per minute

Unitech will demonstrate its Model T012 Automatic Pre-Stretched Film Rewinder at PACK EXPO International 2026 in Chicago.

It’s designed for manufacturers and distributors of industrial stretch film. The fully automated system processes large rolls of film into smaller rolls used for manual stretch wrapping and can reach speeds up to 4,000 feet per minute.

The system uses servo-controlled rollers to adjust how much the film is stretched before rewinding. It also automatically folds the film’s edges to reinforce them and help prevent tearing during use.

Pre-stretching and rewinding in one system

The Model T012 processes master rolls of stretch film using variable pre-stretch ratios, allowing converters to adjust the material for different packaging requirements.

Unitech says the automated process is designed to help film manufacturers and distributors increase throughput, improve material yield, and produce hand-wrap rolls that are more resistant to tearing.

In addition to film converting equipment, Unitech manufactures automatic stretch wrappers, pallet strapping machines, conveyors, and accessories for integrated packaging lines.
