SEW Eurodrive recently announced its new Wes Series stainless steel gear unit, a compact and hygienic drive solution that operates at a low temperature even under continuous operations.
The company says this gear unit offers wear-free gearing and produces more torque. Unlike worm gear units that may overheat, the Wes Series integrates SPIROPLAN right-angle gearing to ensure reliable performance.
It’s corrosion-resistant, rated for high-pressure washdowns, and can be utilized in a variety of industries including food, beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Here are the additional benefits:
· Efficiency: Its design excludes a cooling fan, making it safer and more suitable for sterile environments.
· Safety: Reduces burn hazards to ensure worker and product safety, the company said.
· Durability: High-efficiency gearing and lubrication systems can extend service life.
The Wes Series is available in two sizes: WES..19 with a torque range of 5.90 to 167.59 Nm. and the WES..29 with a torque range of 4.68 to 188.47 Nm.
Machine builders in the food and beverage space can utilize this gear for bottling, packaging, and conveyor systems, as it easily integrates into processing lines.
“The WES Series is a breakthrough for industries needing a stainless steel gear unit that stays cool, clean, and reliable. By integrating SPIROPLAN right-angle gearing, we’ve created a solution that outperforms traditional gear units in hygiene-sensitive applications,” Tom Ellis, industry account specialist at SEW-Eurodrive, said in a statement.
