Rockwell Automation recently unveiled its Security Monitoring and Response service, built to detect and respond to operational technology (OT) cyber threats.
The company’s recent State of Manufacturing survey found that cybersecurity and a shortage of skilled workers were among the top 5 external issues for manufacturing.
The latest solution delivers real-time detection and response to combat cybersecurity risks in industrial environments, like packaging and manufacturing. It delivers 24/7 coverage to allow real-time visibility while providing surveillance.

Cybersecurity features and benefits
The Security Monitoring and Response service addresses security risks, resource gaps, and operational inefficiency with its team of OT cybersecurity analysts. Additional key features include:
· Monitoring and threat detection: Supports surveillance and detection of potential threats, and Rockwell’s analysts harness analytics to prioritize and investigate alerts so manufacturers can turn raw data into actionable insights.
· Response and remediation: Offers guidance to support quick response in the event of a security incident, and analysts with the OT Security Operations Center (SOC) can provide step-by-step assistance to assist in managing incidents.
· Reporting and scalability: Rockwell Automation supplies monthly executive summaries and quarterly business reviews to keep stakeholders informed, and solutions are tailored to meet the needs of each individual customer.
The system provides automated alerts and rationalization systems based on pre-defined OT threat rules, advanced analytics, and OT/IT threat intelligence, which enables global SOC analysts to respond quickly to threats while only escalating critical alerts to internal teams.
“As cyber risk continues to increase, manufacturers need constant vigilance and the right expertise to stay ahead of evolving threats. But they often lack the resources to do so,” said Nick Creath, cybersecurity services lead product manager at Rockwell Automation, in a statement. “Security Monitoring and Response provides the visibility, intelligence, and rapid action required to safeguard industrial environments through 24/7 continuous monitoring, real-time threat detection, and expert-led response.”
Additional benefits and integration capabilities
This service can also help manufacturers in reducing disruption, such as downtime and potential financial loss, while still improving operational efficiency by automating day-to-day security tasks.
It integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructure to provide real-time insights and data from manufacturers’ existing hardware and software.
