ProAmpac announced last week that it has completed its acquisition of TC Transcontinental Packaging (TCP) from TC Transcontinental. The deal was valued at $2.1 billion in cash, according to TCP.
TCP, based in North America, is a flexible packaging provider, and the merger combines its manufacturing capabilities and global footprint under ProAmpac’s operations.
The deal expands ProAmpac’s reach in flexible packaging, adding capability in barrier films, single-material structures, fiber-based formats, and protein packaging, ultimately giving the combined company broader options to serve customers across multiple markets.
“Our companies share similar values and a commitment to our customers. By integrating TCP’s packaging technologies and staff, we can work together to provide a broader range of packaging solutions,” said Greg Tucker, ProAmpac founder, vice chairman, and chief executive, officer in a statement.
Expanding flexible packaging offerings
TCP produces a variety of flexible plastic pouches, including roll stock, labels, die cut lids, shrink films, bags, pouches, and advanced coatings.

The company serves markets such as dairy, coffee, pet food, beverage, medical, and home and personal care products. TCP leadership offered a perspective on the merger in a statement.
“The closing of the sale of our Packaging business represents a key milestone for TC Transcontinental,” said Isabelle Marcoux, executive chair of the board for TC Transcontinental, in a statement. “I want to thank all our packaging employees for their dedication and engagement in building this business over more than a decade.”
She added that the deal will allow TC Transcontinental to focus resources on retail services, printing, and educational publishing.

Global footprint increases
Following the merger, ProAmpac now has more than 80 manufacturing sites and 11,000 employees worldwide, with locations in Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, and New Zealand.
“We are proud to welcome TCP as an official member of the ProAmpac family,” said Tucker.
ProAmpac, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, is owned by investment firm PPC, management, and co-investors.

Recent packaging industry deals
The TCP and ProAmpac deal is the latest packaging merger of 2026.
Last month, Coesia added Swiss packaging assets from the Rotzinger Group, and Orbis expanded its thermoforming capabilities with Robinson Industries.
