Morrison Container Handling Solutions will introduce two new machines at Pack Expo Las Vegas later this month, including a redesigned screw denester and a robotic orienting system.
Known for its timing screws and change parts, the Glenwood, Illinois-based company has 54 years of experience and says the additions reflect its expansion into robotics for continuous motion applications.
“We’ve always believed that the best technology is the kind that empowers our customers to be more efficient,” said Nancy Wilson, CEO of Morrison Container Handling Solutions, in a statement. “With the introduction of our new Screw Denester and Robotic Orienting System, we’re proud to continue that legacy – delivering innovative solutions that build on the trusted timing screw technology our customers already rely on.”

Screw Denester with quick-change capabilities
Morrison says it has redesigned its Screw Denester to provide a high-speed, cost-conscious solution designed to separate and place containers such as cups, tubs, and trays onto a conveyor line.
Offering a compact footprint, the machine uses Morrison’s screw denesting method for accurate and repeatable handling while removing the need for traditional pneumatic pick-and-place systems.
The company added that it features continuous motion denesting for high throughput, quick-change timing screw cartridges for tool-less changeovers, and reduced maintenance and mechanical wear.
It can be used before filling operations or combined with other Morrison equipment, and custom denesting solutions for more complex applications will also be on display.

Robotic system for container control
The robotic orienting system uses timing screw handling and is designed for packages that require orientation based on shape, label position, or closure alignment.
The machine is equipped with a vision system to identify and orient containers in real time, a control system for recipe-based changeovers, and parallel robotic arms for high-speed throughput. It can adapt to multiple container shapes and sizes with the appropriate change parts.
Morrison says this approach provides flexibility with SKU complexity and uses timing screws to maintain control of the containers on complex lines.
“Automation doesn’t have to mean complexity,” said Chris Wilson, president at Morrison. “Our new screw denester and robotic orienting machine are built to simplify how lines operate while giving plants more flexibility, higher speeds, and fewer headaches.”

See the machines in action in Las Vegas
In addition to the new systems, Morrison will demonstrate its Combiner and Divider Loop, Alternate Inverting Loop, Twist Blocks, and its Quick Changeover Drive Unit machine with Auto Adjust Rails in Booth W-3522.
The company will also invite attendees to participate in its changeover game, which highlights change parts and rotary base design.
In addition, Morrison’s products will be on display in the following booths:
- Elum Inc. – Booth SL-11075: Change parts on the PROTOS labeler
- PDC International – Booth W-3722: Timing screws for shrink sleeving
- Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery – Booth W-1916: Change parts on fillers
