MG America recently introduced the GTF60 Flexi, a modular tray forming and loading machine capable of producing up to 240 cartons per minute.
The company is the U.S. subsidiary of MG2, which is based in Bologna, Italy, and known for its processing and packaging equipment.
The GTF60 Flexi is a compact machine featuring a balcony design for easy wipe-down. MG America says it was engineered for adaptability, and it runs up to 60 cycles per minute while indexing as many as four cartons per cycle, tripling the maximum output of its predecessor.
“Increasingly, the key to end-of-line packaging across various sectors is modularity that doesn’t sacrifice performance or speed,” said Claudio Radossi, president of MG America, in a statement. “Considering this, the new GTF60 Flexi is a natural successor to our proven GTF60 tray forming and loading platform.”
Machine specifications and modular system
The machine is fully servomotor-controlled. Its modular system is enabled by B&R Industrial Automation’s ACOPOStrak variable pitch indexing system, which allows for customizable tray movement.
MG America says its user-friendly design enables quick changeovers and streamlined maintenance. It’s available as a standalone module or in a multi-module configuration to support collating and loading sequences that involve multiple components.
It can accommodate a range of desired box sizes, from a minimum of 80 x 34 x 40mm to a maximum of 280 x 250 x 150mm, making it suitable for packaging products from a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical devices, nutritional, food, confectionery, and general consumer goods.

The GTF60 Flexi can be equipped with a range of collating and loading configurations, including gantry-style pick-and-place systems to fully integrated, multi-axis robotic modules designed for high-speed loading applications.
