Lantech adds new stretch wrappers with AMR integration capability

Lantech recently announced the launch of two new stretch wrappers, the SL400 and SL400LT. The SL400LT offers an autonomous mobile robot (AMR)-integrated option for stretch wrapping in automated warehouse environments.

While AMR is available for select stretch wrapping applications, Lantech said it’s not required for every operation. The Louisville, Kentucky-based OEM previewed its AMR integration plans in late 2025 and said that this announcement marks the launch of both models in North and South America.

“Automation strategies look different from one operation to the next,” said Jim Lancaster, CEO of Lantech, in a statement. “The SL400 and SL400LT bring proven load-containment technology into semi-automatic machines in a way that fits how operations actually run today.”

Designed for flexible operations

Both models are designed to automate stretch wrapping in facilities with varying levels of automation and work without conveyors, ramps, or load weight restrictions. Here’s more on each model:

  • SL400: Places loads directly on the floor while the wrap arm travels around the load. It handles light, heavy, unstable, or order-picked loads and includes Load Guardian with Ready-to-Wrap profiles.
  • SL400LT: Intended for manufacturing and automated environments, it incorporates Load Seeking Clamp and TurboTak technology.

TurboTak technology, included in the SL400LT, uses two stages of high-velocity air blasts to reduce film-related interruptions in automated environments.

The first blast shapes the film web in the precise location, and the second secures the film tail to the underlying layers so it will not interfere with surrounding equipment or AMRs. This technology requires no heat, is fully self-contained, and has no exposed or moving parts.

Lantech says by reducing loose-film interruptions, TurboTak helps prevent unplanned downtime in automated warehouse environments.

The stretch wrappers include Lantech’s Load Guardian control system.

“With technologies like Load Guardian and TurboTak plus AMR integration options, we’re giving customers practical solutions to address labor challenges, maintain uptime, and move forward with automation confidently,” said Lancaster.
