FlexLink recently introduced its RC20 collaborative palletizer for end-of-line applications that require heavier payloads and higher throughput.
The RC20 can handle payloads up to 17 kilograms (kg) and achieve throughput of up to six boxes per minute, or up to 12 boxes per minute with double pick. The system expands FlexLink’s collaborative palletizing portfolio beyond its RC12, which handles payloads up to 10 kg.
FlexLink, which is part of Coesia, says the RC20 is intended to give manufacturers more capacity while maintaining a compact footprint and operator access.
“With RC20, we are extending collaborative palletizing into applications that require higher payloads and throughput, while preserving the compactness and accessibility that make this technology valuable on the shop floor,” said Henrik Furhoff, CEO of FlexLink, in a statement.

Handling heavier cases at higher speeds
Using a FANUC CRX20 collaborative robot arm, the RC20 can build pallets up to 2.4 meters high.
FlexLink says the system can be used for food, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceuticals, and other end-of-line applications.

Actual throughput and pallet height depend on the case, pallet size, and palletizing pattern.
The palletizer is CE-certified and UL-compliant. It’s built on a standardized platform that allows for customization based on the application.
Reducing stops around the palletizing cell
The RC20 uses a safety system that allows operators to move near the palletizer without stopping the machine or reducing its speed.
“It’s unique safety concept helps avoid the larger operational footprint and unnecessary stoppages often associated with safety scanners or fencing, giving manufacturers a standardized solution to automate end-of-line operations in a safe, flexible, and scalable way,” said Furhoff.

Compared with setups that combine fencing and a front scanner, FlexLink says the system allows operators to pass close to the cell without triggering unnecessary stops or resets.
Simplifying pallet setup and changeovers
FlexLink’s Robot Config software allows users to create pallet patterns and make changeovers without robotic programming experience.
The software validates pallet patterns through a background simulation of the palletizing process, which eliminates the need to complete a dry run before production begins.
FlexLink says the software saves setup time and supports changeovers when handling changing stock-keeping units.
Coming to Pack Expo International
FlexLink will demonstrate the RC20 at booth S-2501 during Pack Expo International, which takes place October 18-21, 2026, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
